This dramatic sounding model was designed to introduce the superior sound of Santa Cruz Guitars to players that had been afraid to touch them. SCGC’s reputation for relentless quality and attendant high prices kept many from even trying one out. The Pre-War Model was okay to approach, not inexpensive but not completely intimidating either. Given the opportunity to hear a truly sophisticated guitar, perhaps for the first time, players experienced a paradigm shift in what they thought possible. The D/PW’s powerful volume, overtones and rich presence is an epiphany to the uninitiated. There are no unnecessary design features on this model, simply the finest materials treated to SCGC’s state of the art lutherie.

This custom-ordered dreadnought has a vintage look with modern playability. A flawless vintage-tinted Adirondack top is paired with gorgeous, tightly-grained mahogany back and sides, Ebony bridge, fingerboard and headstock overlay, mahogany neck with V-profile and 1-11/16" nut width, Backlit Tortoiseshell body binding and Ivoroid Santa Cruz 'Script' headstock logo, all of which amount to one of the finest vintage-inspired dreadnoughts available today. A true heirloom instrument from one of the world's finest guitar builders. Includes Santa Cruz Ameritage hardshell case.


Recorded using Ear Trumpet Edwina and Milab VM-44 microphones, Solid State Logic SSL2+ audio interface, Logic Pro X and Waves Reverb and Mastering plugins, with an emphasis of capturing the true voice of each guitar.
