Initial fears focused on student cheating and the “death of the take-home essay,” but the implications have quickly expanded. Long-standing practices now require rethinking, revising, or even abandoning, and the transition has been difficult. Nearly three years in, this issue offers an overview of the disruption AI has unleashed, along with emerging ideas and glimpses of hope.
