Not long ago Australian immigration revealed that there will be some modifications. These modifications are certainly for the better and are to inspire more international students to come and study in Australia.

The changes in the Graduate Visa includes:

The stay period on the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa for Masters by Coursework graduates, has been prolonged permanently to three year from two years. This has already come into effect from 1 December 2021

As a concession during the Coronavirus pandemic, the stay period on the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa Graduate Work stream, has increased to 24 months from 18 months. This has also come into effect from 1 Dec 2021

It has been reported that many students were granted the extended visa which is wonderful! It is also very obliging for a student to get PR as they get extra time to fulfil the obligations. Specially for trade students who require extra time to work in their industry.
