This writing lesson is based on Canadian Author Neil Pasricha's BOOK OF AWESOME, his blog and his TED TALK. It is an English Language Arts (ELA) lesson created for Primary and Middle school (Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8).
This complete 23 page Awesome Writing Lesson will teach your students to look for the "Little Joys that Make Life Sweet". The lesson includes a link to a TED TALK, followed by a step by step guide to choosing a topic and then writing about a "Little Joy" in their life. Included in this lesson is a BRAINSTORMING handout, a WRITING RUBRIC and a REVISION CHECKLIST. Best of all, STUDENT SAMPLES have been included. From start to finish, this lesson is COMPLETE.
