This is a path tracing function built into the RE engine, which mixes global ray tracing reflections and global illumination. Of course, the effect in this mode is not perfect. For example, the rendering effect of vegetation will be relatively poor. It is estimated that Capcom is developing it and vegetation is not included in BVH.
From the built-in path tracing of the RE engine, we can see some optimization methods of Capcom. For example, in the default rendering environment of the game, the high roughness threshold is affected by the reflection cube, and only the very low roughness threshold is affected by the ray tracing reflection. Therefore, the default ray tracing effect improvement of this game is not particularly obvious.
The quality of path-traced reflections is a qualitative leap compared to the game's default ray-traced reflections. It is a reflection of the full roughness threshold, so the overall effect is more amazing~
