Often, when we are asked to describe ourselves, we look for the most positive things to say; whilst knowing that the points we give are not an accurate description of who we are. From self-evaluation, comes improvement.

Asa Di Vaar is collection of ballads/stanzas and is usually sung before sun rise in the beautiful Raag Asa. Written by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Angad Dev Ji and Guru Raam Das Ji, the Bani (prayer) praises the wondrous creation and condemns hypocrisy. Many Gursikhs (Sikhs of the Guru) recite this Bani as part of their Nitnem (Daily Sikh Prayers), as it is a practical guideline for life.
