This will be our third season of planting a vegetable garden, but this year we will plant a second garden because the garden we have isn't that big.

Last year we simply left our rain water barrel sitting on the ground and dipped our watering can into the top of the barrel to get water. We always had lots of rain water in the barrel so retrieving water out wasn't hard.

But I thing raising the rain water barrel by placing it on top of a platform will help when the water level gets low in the barrel.
