The ANG1010 EEPROM-configurable sequencer/voltage
scaler/supervisor combines a primary Li-battery input, a boost
converter with power point tracking for a micro-power PV-panel and efficient energy storage capabilities, with highly
configurable power supply sequencing and precise voltage
conversion for two independent output power domains. Each
domain has its own reset and clock outputs to activate
external processors, radio devices and associated peripherals
and/or sensor devices at accurately sequenced time intervals.
A built-in power path controller seamlessly detects and
manages energy flows between the primary battery, the PV-panel input and the energy storage capacitor or rechargeable
battery and provides autonomous power-on-reset and a
programmable brown-out prevention threshold voltage.
The built-in Real-Time-Clock is derived from a high precision,
self calibrating silicon oscillator and is used for sequencing,
Active/Standby duty cycle timing, external event timing and
watchdog supervision. When the device remains in Standby
normal Active operation is resumed on either a timed event,
an external trigger event or an alarm caused by an internally
monitored event. A deep-sleep or Hibernate mode terminated
by an external trigger signal, is provided for maximum power
savings during long, inactive periods. The fast-start, low-noise
crystal oscillator generates the individually programmable
clock signals for both output domains.
A 12-bit ADC is used to measure/monitor various internal
voltages (battery input, the voltage across the energy buffer
capacitor, and the voltages on the VD1 and VD2 outputs), the
on-chip temperature sensor and an external voltage applied to
the XIN input pin. The measured values can be accessed
through an SPI compatible, serial data interface, or can be
autonomously compared against individually programmable
over- and undervoltage limits. If the monitored signal exceeds
its individually programmed limits, an internal alarm will be
generated and the ANG1010 enters the Active state and
wakes up the system. The serial data interface is used to
communicate with the device and allows access to the
configuration EEPROM, the configuration registers, the
internal 64byte user EEPROM and the 32byte user RAM. There
are two multi-function I/O pins (CF1 and CF2), that can be
used as synchronization or trigger inputs, interrupt output or
power output for an external sensor.
The ANG1010 is available in a 5.0 x 5.0 x 0.8mm 28-pin thin
QFN package and operates over a temperature range of -25°C
to +85°C.
