Penn State vs. Auburn 1995 Game Story (Outback Bowl)

In a great match-up between Big Ten and SEC powerhouses, the weather was the obvious storyline upon first glance. You'll see some plays where players dive and slide for 10+ yards before coming to a stop. It certainly looked like a fun game to play in. Auburn was able to move the ball with their running back Stephen Davis before he left the game with a concussion, but couldn't get anything against the Nittany Lion's secondary with a wet ball. Wally Richardson on the other hand, played one of his best games in a Penn State uniform, while throwing to the final collegiate performance by Lion Legend Bobby Engram. Engram led the charge offensively with fellow seniors Stephen Pitts rushing for over 100 yards on the ground, and fullback Brian Milne finishing his career with a big day as well.

Penn State capped it's 1995 season with another major bowl victory to finish 13th in the final AP poll with a 9-3 record. It was also good enough for a 3rd place finish in the conference standings. Auburn had an 8-4 record on the season with a final ranking of 22.
