The floods in Assam this year have claimed 92 lives till July 23. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, 28.32 lakh people have been affected across 26 districts. A total of 2,634 villages under 74 revenue circles have been swamped by the swollen river Brahmaputra and its tributaries. Over 47,000 people are taking shelter in 286 relief camps and 1.19 Hectares of crop area has been damaged.
