The City They Said Didn't Exist – Great Zimbabwe

Описание: In southern Africa, hidden in the hills of modern-day Zimbabwe, lies a structure that should be as famous as the pyramids of Egypt. A massive stone city with walls eleven meters high, stretching nearly 250 meters in circumference. No mortar holds the granite blocks together. They are stacked with a precision that has baffled engineers for over a century.

When European colonists first saw it, they refused to believe Africans built it. They invented elaborate theories involving Phoenicians, Arabs, even King Solomon’s mines. But the truth, uncovered by decades of archaeology, tells a different story.
