During The ICE in St. Moritz I filmed this 1986 Porsche 959 Dakar.
Originally developed to dominate Group B rallying, the Porsche 959 Dakar needed a new stage when that category was canceled and she became the superstar of the desert, entering the Dakar Rally.
Three factory cars were built and driven by outstanding Motorsport pilots: Jacky Ickx, René Metge, Roland Kussmaul, under the iconic Rothmans Porsche team. The result was a victory at the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally when she finished 1st (with René Metge), 2nd ( with Jacky Ickx) and 6th. Porsche 959 Dakar is an automotive legend that still turns heads.
