Описание: During World War One, Douglas MacArthur was a Colonel and commanded the 42nd Rainbow Division. It was called the Rainbow Division due to it being comprised of guard units from multiple states. This was where MacArthur began to develop his reputation of taking personal risks, especially if he believed it would increase overall morale. For example, when it became known that he had a machine gun bullet pass through the left sleeve of his West Point sweater, he noted that “Well, there are times when even general officers have to be expendable.”
