By the late 1960s, he had taken the stage name Judah Khamani and began performing with his band The Zion Arkestra a mystic, roots-heavy group known for stretching dub into spiritual meditations. Judah's lyrics were visions: messages of prophecy, Babylon's fall, the return to Africa, and inner salvation.

His music was not just to dance it was to awaken.

In 1973, his breakout album "Psalms of the Burning Ground" exploded through the underground reggae scene. Sound system operators fought over rare test pressings. Rastas called him “the Sound Prophet.” Even elders in Shashamane, Ethiopia, reportedly declared, “This one is sent.”
