25 अप्रैल 2023 की सुबह महाराष्ट्र के चंद्रपुर में पुलिस अधिकारी जयंत बल्लावार रोज़ की तरह ड्यूटी के लिए घर से निकले। उनकी बेटी आर्या बल्लावार, जो खुद भी पुलिसकर्मी थी, ने उन्हें एक मिल्कशेक दिया। कुछ ही देर बाद जिला कलेक्टर कार्यालय पहुंचते ही जयंत बल्लावार की तबीयत बिगड़ गई। वे अचानक गिर पड़े और उनकी मौत हो गई। उस समय इसे सामान्य बीमारी से हुई मौत मानकर मामला बंद कर दिया गया।

लेकिन तीन साल बाद इस मौत ने ऐसा मोड़ लिया जिसने सभी को चौंका दिया। पुलिस जांच में सामने आया कि आर्या बल्लावार अपने प्रेमी आशीष शेडमाके के साथ रिश्ते में थी और उसके पिता इस रिश्ते का विरोध करते थे। आरोप है कि दोनों ने इस विरोध को हमेशा के लिए खत्म करने की साजिश रची। पुलिस के मुताबिक, आर्या ने अपने चचेरे भाई चैतन्य गेडाम की मदद से ज़हर मंगवाया और घटना वाले दिन वही ज़हर मिल्कशेक में मिलाकर अपने पिता को पिला दिया।

पुलिस का दावा है कि ज़हर का असर कुछ देर बाद हुआ, इसलिए जयंत बल्लावार घर से निकलकर कार्यालय तक पहुंच गए। वहां उनकी मौत हो गई और मामला प्राकृतिक मृत्यु मानकर बंद कर दिया गया। अब तीन साल बाद इस कथित साजिश का खुलासा होने पर आर्या, उसके प्रेमी, चचेरे भाई और एक अन्य आरोपी को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। यह मामला अब महाराष्ट्र के सबसे सनसनीखेज पारिवारिक हत्या मामलों में गिना जा रहा है।

On the morning of April 25, 2023, 45-year-old Maharashtra police officer Jayant Ballawar left his home in Chandrapur for duty, just as he did every day. Before he left, his daughter Arya Ballawar, who was also serving in the police force, handed him a milkshake. He drank it without suspicion and headed to work. Shortly after reaching the District Magistrate's office, he suddenly felt unwell, collapsed, and died. His death was initially treated as a sudden medical emergency, with no signs of foul play, and the case was closed without a post-mortem examination.

Nearly three years later, the case took a dramatic turn. According to Maharashtra Police, fresh investigation revealed that Arya had allegedly been in a relationship with Ashish Shedmake since 2022, a relationship her father strongly opposed. Investigators allege that the couple conspired to eliminate him. Police claim Arya enlisted the help of her cousin Chaitanya Gedam, paying him ₹5,000 to procure poison, while another individual allegedly supplied the toxic substance.

Police allege that on the morning of the incident, Arya mixed the poison into the milkshake and served it to her father before he left for work. Because the poison reportedly acted with a delay, Jayant Ballawar managed to reach his office before collapsing. Since his death appeared to be from natural causes, no criminal investigation was launched at the time. The alleged conspiracy came to light only years later, leading to the arrest of Arya Ballawar, Ashish Shedmake, Chaitanya Gedam, and another accused. The case has since emerged as one of Maharashtra's most shocking alleged family murder conspiracies.
