Описание: Madeira, Portugal turned out to be one of the most surprising and beautiful places we’ve ever visited.

In this Madeira travel vlog we explore Funchal and around the island — from local food and culture to dramatic coastal scenery, mountain landscapes and famous attractions.

We stay at the VidaMar Resort Hotel Madeira and begin in Funchal’s old town with a walking food tour. We visit the Mercado dos Lavradores (Farmers’ Market) and fish market, try exotic local fruit, taste traditional Regional Poncha, and stop at UauCacau artisan chocolate and the historic Fábrica Santo António biscuit factory. We also tour Blandy’s Madeira Wine Lodge to learn about the island’s famous fortified wine.

We ride the Funchal Cable Car up to Monte for incredible views across the city and harbour and visit the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte church. From there we experience one of Madeira’s most famous traditions — the Carreiros do Monte toboggan basket ride.

Exploring beyond Funchal, we drive across the island through Madeira’s many mountain tunnels and spectacular coastal roads, visiting:
• Cabo Girão Skywalk – one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe
• Cascata dos Anjos waterfall road
• Porto Moniz natural volcanic swimming pools (one of our favourite experiences)
• The misty Fanal Forest at Parque de Merendas do Fanal, with its mysterious ancient laurel trees

Another highlight was a dolphin and whale watching trip with VipDolphins Catamaran Whale Watching. We sailed past Câmara de Lobos and were surrounded by dolphins swimming alongside the boat — an unforgettable experience (although no whales this time!).
