First bite, wow. Soft dough, rich filling, pure comfort. Then I add сметана (sour cream) and it gets even better.

Then the bill comes and I freeze. Around $2 for lunch. A real local meal that tastes incredible. Cheap eats in Ukraine that feel authentic, not touristy, just everyday local life.

After that food mission, I head toward the center for a city walk and a simple goal: find something local and explore the vibe. I walk to the Bastion, a fortress-style spot with an underground gallery full of small shops. It feels like a hidden market under the city, and it is one of those places you only find by walking.

On the way back to the apartment I try a supermarket, but it is mostly home goods, so I keep walking and end up at the famous Ukrainian convenience store chain, Сімі (Simi). Quick stop for Mirinda, then back outside to keep discovering the city.
