Let's look at the sliding spreader bar harness, how it works and if it would suit you and your Kitesurfing. This video is a quick review of my ride engine harness with a 10 inch sliding spreader bar.
For my type of Kitesurfing riding style, in waves, Freeriding and generally just burning around, I found the ride engine harness sliding spreader bar really comfortable and offered just enough additional range of motion to throw down much better turns overall without the need to unhook
For me, it means you can stay hooked in, as the harness and bar are not as restricting or in the way.
If you are looking for a new harness, and trying to decide whether the sliding spreader bar is a good option, I recommend giving it a go.

Cons
Self landing and launching with the chicken loop attached to the spreader bar, rope is slightly more difficult in certain situations
Can't unhook
Susceptible to wear and tear
Rope is potentially dangerous with below the bar depower
