Bob Royer, a Berrywood resident and volunteer water quality monitor for the Magothy River Association will talk about the Cattail Creek Restoration construction project which began in October 2018 and was completed in 2019. Berrywood community residents were alarmed with the deteriorating water quality in Cattail Creek, which was ranked year after year with the worst water quality of any creek in the Magothy River watershed. Bob will talk about how this very large and complex project which required 3 construction phases, significant partnerships and a fully engaged community to accomplish.
Bob Royer, “This project has already made a big difference in the community, and it's all about connections. The restoration successfully reconnected the stream back to the floodplain, and in doing so, reconnected the people in the community back to their stream."
