Bravery ・ Decision ・ Journey

The three words that you see above are the key themes that we have incorporated into our plot for this round.

After competing in the regionals, the ping-pong club succeeded in their goal to advance to the summer interhigh. Although it took a whole year of hard training, everyone was confident that they will have a chance in taking home the trophy. However, things have changed after the ping pong’s club first victory in the regionals after more than perhaps five years ago.

A rumor which was circulated from neighboring schools was that that the club won due to the consumption of illegal body enhancing drugs. After the rumor went viral on the social media, the club received their first ever visit from local authorities who wanted to confirm the suspicion. To everybody’s surprise, a rare kind of drug was discovered inside Xenna’s bag during the search.

With Xenna taken into custody, the club contemplates on their next step. Although they were determined to still continue on with interhigh, the pressure that they received from the public was unexpectedly overwhelming. While some decided to stay (Annelise, Rayne, Crusty, and Haferflocken), others decided to not get involved in the incident and stayed away from activities until things calmed down. And sadly, for some their decision was decided for them by their parents out of concern of bad influence.

What will be each and everyone’s choices in this trying time? And will there ever be an answer to the real truth? ...Our entry wanted to portray this contemplation to advance and keep going on even when things fall apart all around us. Although there are people who are brave and strong by nature, what about the people who are troubled on the question of whether they should stand up for what they believe in? Even if someone’s a wimp, doesn’t mean that they can’t get back up and put up a fight back - and that’s exactly why we have chosen the song for this entry; to make sure that each of us can stand back up again to face any challenges the world throws at us.
