Perhaps best-known as simply the wife of Thomas Edison, Mina Miller Edison was a remarkable woman in her own right who left an indelible mark on the world, specifically on the Edison's Winter home in Fort Myers, Florida. Like the private and public gardens that Mina sowed and tended so dearly, her work in Fort Myers planted the seeds for growth, change and beautification--that can still be seen today.
The sunshine state has a rich and colorful history. For hundreds of years the state has attracted dreamers, opportunists, inventors and fortune-seekers. WGCU's Untold Stories aims to preserve the history of Southwest Florida communities.
