I greatly admired legendary broadcaster Lowell Thomas (1892-1981) and had frequent contact with him in the final years of his remarkable career. In the 1970s I recorded a number of his “Lowell Thomas Brings The News” 7 p.m. radio newscasts over CBS Radio. Check out my YouTube Channel and Playlists section for the many Lowell Thomas newscasts I’ve already uploaded and watch for more still to come. Here is the broadcast I recorded on Dec. 12, 1975.
Among the reports: Sara Jane Moore, who attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, changed her plea to guilty as charged; dissident Lithuanian biologist found guilty of slandering the Soviet Union; British government puts up $360 million to keep Chrysler plants in Britain; hold up at the “Easy Go” gas station in Chicago.
