Описание: BBC Research and Development began testing out a few different systems for BBC Sport last week, including a smattering of 3D projects as well as the NHK Super Hi Vision system. Super Hi Vision (aka Ultrahigh-Definition Wide-Screen System with 4000 Scanning Lines) is the 8k television technology "of our dreams", according to NHK's site (where it also says that it "delivers the images so real that viewers feel as if they were actually at the site of the broadcast and find themselves attempting to touch what's on the screen"). The system uses a 7680 x 4320 pixel format that delivers 16x higher resolution than standard HDTVs in 33-megapixel frames. So basically a twenty minute broadcast ended up being around 4TB in size. Woof... The live set by The Charlatans (known as the Charlatans UK in the US) was broadcast to an audience in Japan, with images being DOWNCONVERTED to 4k for viewing on the studio monitors during the broadcast. (Obviously it's not in 8k, but you can watch the session at BBC Radio's 6 Music channel here.) Start getting ready to get ready for the next revolution in resolution, roll-out is expected to hit living rooms circa 2016 to 2020.
