Receiving medication - Day 6 of injections
The idea of freezing my eggs came to mind maybe 5 years ago. At that time, it was just a thought and I wanted to learn more about it, but I did not pursue it. In 2019 I decided to schedule an appointment to meet with a fertility physician and learn more about my options. At the time, I was 33, single (actively dating someone) and I knew that my career could eventually lead me to future opportunities. I knew I wanted options in the future and understood the quality of my eggs may be an issue, the older I got.
After focusing on myself mentally and emotionally, I finally made the decision to move forward with the egg freezing process (also known as oocyte cryopreservation process) and I am so excited to share my journey with you.
Through my research and preparation for this procedure, I realized how few Black Women were talking about egg freezing/IVF and fertility issues in our community.
I pray I can inspire women to learn more about the egg freezing process and the options they have available.
