While the entitlement, livelihood and PGSRD sub-components of the VPRP are understandable and achievable, the Social Development Plan (SDP) requires greater effort - both at the facilitator level, as well as at the community level to understand and effectively implement. This video highlights the need and importance of a social development plan focusing on the basics such as what constitutes a social issue, examples of social issues and the need for an SDP. It also delves into the more complex issues of how to go about making such a plan, the steps required, the multi-stakeholder approach needed (support of line departments, Panchayat, the community, etc.) using illustrative and relatable examples.
Lastly, the video also touched upon the follow-up activities required to make the plan sustainable and implementable.
