Описание: Smokey Robinson (born William Robinson Jr., February 19, 1940, Detroit, Michigan) is one of the most influential voices in soul and Motown history. As the founder and frontman of The Miracles, he shaped the Motown sound with a string of classic hits. Among them, “The Tracks of My Tears” (1965). The single reached #16 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the R&B chart, later entering the UK Singles Chart twice, peaking at #9 in 1969. Widely acclaimed, it was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Other Robinson-penned classics include “Shop Around”, “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me”, “The Tears of a Clown” and his solo hit “Cruisin’” (U.S. #4, 1979). Beyond performing, Robinson was a prolific songwriter for Motown stars like The Temptations and Mary Wells. His career spans more than six decades. This live performance was recorded by TV program TROS Popformule on May 29, 1987.
