The Enchanting Rhodope Mountains: A Winter Wonderland Escape

Описание: Join us as we travel through Southern Bulgaria from Turkey, across the beautiful Rhodope mountains and onto South Macedonia. Reaching 1600m above sea level and driving through snow in Walter for the first time. Beautiful but stressful !

Our first stop at the Park4night in isolated, breathtaking scenery to reach the Dyavolski Most - Devils bridge and live to tell the tale.
Walking around the frozen Smolyan Lake, trying to keep warm in freezing temperatures but still enjoying our surroundings and our slowliving lifestyle.

Our Motorhome adventure continued as we travelled to Borino to a second rock bridge and beautiful countryside walk.
Travelling farther west to take a national walkway from Melnik town to Rozhen Monastery taking in the amazing sandstone Pyramids on the way and capturing some fantastic drone footage.

Arriving at some free super hot thermal springs and mudbath in Rupite, and discovering the Balkans Nostradamus, Baba Vanga’s memorial garden.
With Lidl stops on the way ! 😂

Hello and Welcome...We are Martin and Eileen, a couple from the UK, meandering around Europe in our 21 year old motorhome called Walter.
In 2022 we took a long term sabbatical and set off on our adventures travelling Europe and beyond ….
We have already explored some of Scotland and the Islands, Western Europe and Morocco, experiencing so many different and amazing views and sunsets. Last year we travelled through Romania and Bulgaria and into Greece. We are currently enjoying Albania after spending the winter in Turkey, before heading into the rest of Europe. Well that’s the current plan anyway! Our mantra is no definite plan .. absolutely free ….
