All Goa Poultry Shopkeepers Association Urges Action Against Illegal Dumping of Chicken Waste

Описание: All Goa Poultry Shopkeepers Association has raised serious concern over chicken waste being dumped on roadsides and in water bodies. Association president Prisco Sequeira said that the organisation regularly collects waste from its registered members for a nominal fee and issues advance receipts to ensure accountability. He alleged that non-member vendors were responsible for most of the unhygienic dumping, creating health and environmental hazards. He stated that all waste collected from association members is scientifically treated at an authorised plant. Another member expressed satisfaction over the proper disposal system followed by the association.

Urging the public to be vigilant, the association appealed to consumers to question chicken vendors about their waste-disposal methods before purchasing. They further demanded that Municipalities and Panchayats take strict action against those dumping chicken waste in open areas. The association also pointed out that customers ultimately pay for the waste generated, and it is the responsibility of vendors to ensure scientific disposal without causing inconvenience to the public.
