Full title reads: "Mr Ramsay MacDonald speaks to the Nation."
Shots of Prime Minister James Ramsay MacDonald speaking in garden. He is facing off camera. He talks about the forthcoming struggle, the British and World economic situations, he talks about the problems of the fluctuating exchange rate. He says that no 'party' government can solve the problem. He adds a section calling on people to question candidates at the election where they stand on joining together for the National Good. (Closer shot). He says that there will be a need for sacrifice - he suggests that he has made a sacrifice in becoming part of the National Coalition Government, but that he has not departed from principle. He says that the problems are temporary but people need to show their support for the National Government in the forthcoming General Election.
N.B. This version of the story has extra comments about the choice facing voters in the General Election.
This story should be followed by a speech from Stanley Baldwin which is currently missing.
Alternative spelling for search purposes - Ramsey McDonald.
