Modern Israel and the Last Days

1. The PROMISE land of Israel.
Ex 32:13
There is a reason we call Israel the PROMISE land.
The Abrahamic Covenant is unconditional.
The Abrahamic covenant is called eternal or everlasting in Genesis 17
verses 7, 13 and 19.
Rom 9:4-5

2. The PROPHECY fulfilled in our lifetime.
The Jews would be regathered back into the Land.
Ezek 34:11-13
Ezek. 34:28,30, Ezek. 36:10:11 and Amos 9:14

3. The PROSPERITY of Israel as compared to a desert that blooms.
Isa 35:1-2

In the 1880s, European Jews settled in mandated Palestine and wrought an
agricultural miracle in that desolate territory.
The Jewish settlers drained malarial swamps, leached salt from the soils, terraced
the barren hills, and planted millions of trees.

4. The PROBLEM of anti-Semitism.
Zech 12:1-3
The NEW ANTI-SEMITISM is directed against Jerusalem.
The vehicle used to attach tiny Israel politically is twofold.
1) The West Bank
2) The Palestinian people

We need to follow a timeline of Israel.
1) We will begin with the 70 AD the temple is destroyed, and a million Jews are
killed and many more taken by the Romans as slaves.
Rome takes the spoils of the Jews and uses it to build the Colosseum.
Where other Jews and Christians would be martyred for the faith.

2) The next critical date is 135 AD and The Bar Kokhba revolt
After 3 years the revolt was over but the Jews remained in the land.
The Romans in order to add insult to injury renamed Israel after their
famous enemy the Philistines. Thus, Israel began to be referred to as
Palestine.

3) The next date is 212 AD when the Roman Emperor Cara-calla allowed Jews in
the land to become Roman citizens.
The Jews remain in their homeland even under the Byzantine Empire. They
too recognized the Jewish homeland.

4) Then everything changes in 636 A.D.
The Arabs under the Ottoman Empire burst on the scene.
Arabs began to pour into the land and colonize it. Mostly made up of the
Arab military and their families. Thus, it was not the Jews who drove the
Arabs from their home; it was the Arabs who drove the Jews from their
homeland.

711 AD Then Spanish suffered the same experience.
The Arabs conquer Spain and occupy it centuries. It was almost 800 years
before Spain would be able to completely drive out the Arabs. What took
the Spaniards 8 centuries to accomplish it took the Jews 12 centuries. Yet,
no one refers to the Spaniards as “occupiers”.

5) The Jews dispersed all over the world longed for a homeland.
And that idea of Zionism began to grow along with the persecution.
The Jews of England in the 1290’s
The Jews of France in the 1390’s
The Jews of Spain in the 1490’s
The Jews of the Ukraine in the 1640’s
The Jews of Russia in the 1880’s
1850’s The once small trickle of Jews now became a constant stream back
to the homeland.

6) Then in 1920 The Betrayal took place.
Britain turned its back on the promises it had undertaken in the Balfour
Declaration.
The Balfour Declaration was a letter written by British
Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lionel Walter Rothschild,
in which he expressed the British government’s support for a
Jewish homeland in Palestine.

7) The PROBLEM of anti-Semitism grows worse.
Today we have the new antisemitism.
“If You Hate Israel, You Are No Friend of the Jews.”

5. The PLAN of God for the future of Israel.
Psalm 89: 33, 34
Therefore, the nation of Israel must be preserved, converted and restored.
Romans 11:26-27
