A couple notes from Jillian:
For treatment of scale, you can use a q-tip with alcohol and apply directly to the insect. This may take a while but is the best way to kill it!
If you don't have 10-52-10, you can use a liquid plant food, or something with a high middle number.
This project can be done outside if it's warm enough. This way you can give your plant a good shower and soak the pot thoroughly when you're done.
Don't pick a pot that's too large! Just go one size up. That's why the grow pot/basket combo is so useful and economical!
