Esme Brinsden is the project co-ordinator for the Phage Collection Project based at the University of Southampton. Esme describes what antibiotic resistance is and the risk it poses to public health. She then introduces phages and how they can be used therapeutically to counter bacterial infections and describes her Citizen Science project identifying and collecting phages from water samples. This talk was given to a full house at the Romsey Café Scientifique meeting held at the Romsey British Legion on February 26th 2026.
