Yes. They should be terrified. Tony should be shaking in his damn snow shoes.

Today, we’re gonna talk about AEW in the Paramount Era, the disaster it creates alongside the rise of Brody King and why AEW suddenly finds itself in the national television playoffs. And On the brink of elimination.

This deal is deeper than dollars per share. Tony Khan has backed into the biggest right-wing media empire in America. And AEW is on the wrong side of Paramount’s politics considering its most popular chant.

As of this writing, WBD—and AEW—has been acquired by Paramount as part of a $110 billion merger. If the deal goes through, Paramount owns WBD. Had WBD gone to Netflix, they would have split into two companies, and AEW would be saddled with the B-team over at Discovery+.

But now that Paramount swooped in, all of WBD will be owned by the Ellisons. As is the case with everything these days, this deal comes with huge political ramifications. Paramount has spent the last six months appeasing Donald Trump for this exact situation. Once Paramount gets approval from the Apprentice, CBS and CNN will be compromised with Fox News already an institution in Cracker rhetoric.

The Paramount-WBD conglomerate will be a red wall of networks that won’t dare say anything inflammatory about President Trump and his fascist regime. That is, until you fire up HBO Max and hear

Here in-lies AEW’s problem. AEW’s appeal is as a punk-rock, upstart wrestling company. They’re the alternative to the industry leading, Connecticut Corporation of WWE. As a do-it-yourself wrestling promotion with an indyriffic flavor and a nepobaby’s bankroll, AEW appeals to a more liberal fanbase. Some of their biggest stars like Hangman Adam Page and Brody King have been outspoken about ICE.

MJF once said that AEW doesn’t censor its fans. But if AEW wants to stay off Paramount’s chopping block, censoring those chants is exactly what they’re gonna do. The F Ice chant is hot as fish grease. AEW is currently on a tour of the west coast, and one liberal city after another is lining up to talk that F Ice Sh. AEW is gonna be in San Jose and my backyard of Inglewood in the span of four days. Believe me when I say they will be screaming it.

So AEW is in a rock and a hard place. On one hand, some of their biggest stars are outspoken liberals celebrated by a liberal fanbase. On the other hand, AEW is under the watchful eye of the Ellisons, who want no part of any mainstream controversy about a wrestling fanbase rebelling against Trump.

This is going to be tough to hear, but AEW might have no choice but to tailor its entire promotion to conservatives.
