Stillness
To still the turning—
this alone is initiation
into the subtle flame.
Beyond it,
no fate,
no law,
no beyond.
Past the path of steps,
into the pathless—
austerity matures
into sovereignty
without a throne.
There:
a victory
that is no victory,
a space
that swallows echoes,
light
that refuses form.
Time stops
its hungry chasing.
Distinctions
melt like wax
before the source
that breathes
only inward.
Here,
even the path
forgets
it was ever walked.
What This Composition Is
Not a teaching. Not an explanation. Not a philosophy lecture.
This is a step towards initiation.
An initiation orients you toward self-discovery. It does not tell you what to find. It creates conditions in which finding becomes possible. What you do with those conditions—the struggling, the experimenting, the self-assessment—is entirely yours.
This composition creates those conditions through sound, silence, and the Tamil Siddha words that carry within them centuries of lived transmission.
The Journey the Music Makes
The composition moves through four recognizable stages:
First: The Ground of Separation
We begin in the condition most of us inhabit—அபரகதி (the lower movement): caught in ego's illusion of separateness, tossed by karma's winds, mistaking our contracted isolated self for the whole of what we are.
Second: The Turning
Through நற்றவம் (immersion toward the goal—not punishment, but passionate orientation), the scattered attention begins turning inward. Not dramatically. Inexorably. Like water finding its level.
Third: The Void That Is Not Empty
வெற்றிடம்—the open space. Jaina space. The space of all possibilities, unconstrained by anything. From outside, it looks like nothing is happening. From inside, there is an intense inward swirling—உற்றியுள்நோக்கி திரளும்—deeper and deeper into what the Siddhas called "the other side of time."
Fourth: The Sovereign Condition
காலன்பற்றிடா பேதமற்றிடம்—where Death cannot grasp, where distinctions dissolve, where the source flows inward as the very sense of being. This is கதியமைபெற்றிடம்—the condition of peace that cannot be disturbed by anything or anyone. Not because you have withdrawn. Because you have arrived at the ground beneath all disturbance.
