Dalits built India’s core discourse on social justice. They carried the sharpest edge of resistance because they bore the sharpest edge of oppression — untouchability, temple exclusion, zero assets, violence without recourse. That has changed. Awareness is higher, mobilisation is stronger, and resistance now outpaces repression.
Even as attempts are made to restore old feudal dominance under new political regimes, backlash from below is faster and louder. The caste pyramid is shaking, not tightening.
