*Note on riff in Bar 153-54 (6:37):
I didn't put the picking direction for the quick ascending riff in Bar 153-54, but it's actually not as impossible as it looks once you get the rhythmic feel. You're basically doing quick down-up-down strokes at each position (as you move up the fretboard there are a few down-up-down-up strokes + sweeps/ rakes). The open strings are all slighly palm-muted so think of them more as quick dead-notes rather than hammer-ons. More about snapping your right hand and squeezing/releasing strings with your left than fretting the notes exactly right.

Practice the first phrase of Bar 153 over and over until you get the rhythm down, then the rest of it will make sense.

For the first phrase of 153 you are hitting
1) the open A on a downstroke (before hammering to 8A)
2) the open D on an upstroke (before hammering 8D)
3) the 10D on a downstroke

This is similar to the rhythmic feel of the sweeping appreggios at the peak of the solo in Bars 169-172 (7:18). Same thing goes here, it's not as insane as it looks once you get the rhythmic feel.

*Note on ascending triads/ appreggios in Bars 156-162 (6:46 - 7:00):
Didn't include picking direction here but did for similar licks in Bars 81-82 (3:26). 81-82 use the same sweeping/ raking pattern, just played clean so easier to slow down and decipher. These are mostly down-up-down right hand strokes - almost like you're strumming a chord. Focus on your pickstrokes and landing on the right note. Once you get the feel down it'll unlock everything.
