Before the formation of Phantasia Records, the band was signed to Zodiac Records, a mid-tier label with a small but loyal roster that operated from the early 1970s through the 1990s. During this period, Phantasia recorded a large number of tracks, most of which were never formally released. This was the result of the band’s overwhelming creative output and their meticulous approach to album structure. Known for being both prolific and detail-oriented, Phantasia often produced far more material than needed, selecting only the tracks that best served the hidden narrative arc of each release.

This release compiles a selection of those unreleased tracks, recovered from the label’s internal archives shortly before Zodiac was absorbed and rebranded under the Phantasia Records name. While some compositions share motifs or sonic palette with tracks from the official discography, others stand entirely on their own, offering a glimpse into the band’s exploratory process during one of their most active creative periods.

All tracks have been lightly remastered for archival clarity. The structure and content remain faithful to the original reel transfers, with no overdubs or modern instrumentation added. This is the first volume in an ongoing effort to preserve and present the full creative output from Phantasia's Zodiac era.
