Amla–Beetroot Mukhwas – Making Process:-
Ingredients
Amla – 1 kg (grated)
Beetroot – 2 pieces (grated)
Salt – 1 tbsp (for removing extra water)
Sugar powder – 3 to 4 tbsp
Sendha namak – ½ tsp
Kala namak – ½ tsp
Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Dry ginger powder – 1 tsp
Method
Step 1 – Preparation
Wash the amla and beetroot thoroughly.
Remove seeds from amla and grate it finely.
Grate the beetroot separately.
Step 2 – Water Releasing Process
Add 1 tbsp salt to the grated amla and beetroot.
Mix well and keep it aside for 10–15 minutes.
👉 Salt helps to remove extra water and prevents the mukhwas from getting soggy.
Step 3 – Add Spices
Now add:
sugar powder
sendha namak
kala namak
black pepper powder
dry ginger powder
Mix everything evenly.
Step 4 – Drying in Light Sunlight
Spread the mixture in a thin layer on a plate.
Dry it in light sunlight (not strong harsh sun) or under the fan for 24 - 48 hours.
When moisture reduces and mixture becomes non-sticky, the mukhwas is ready.
Step 5 – Storage
Store in an airtight glass container.
It remains good for 1- 2 months.
