'Sri Krishna Devaraya' was the emperor of vizayanagra. He had eight Pundits in his 'Astana' 'Tenalirama' is one among them. He is very clever and spontaneous. 'Sri Krishna Devaraya' had growing some special kind of brinjal plants in his garden.

The brinjal is of very rare kind and its curry is very tasty. And 'Sri Krishna Devaraya' like the curry very much. Since the plants are only few the gardens was provided with high security. No one was allowed to view the plants without the king's permission also.
Once the king arranged dinner for his pundits and in which the brinjal was cooked served. Tenali Rama enjoyed the brinjal Curry very much and went home. But he is unable to forget the taste. He told to his wife that he had brinjal curry in the dinner which is of special kind and was very tasty.

The fact is that Tenali Ramas wife also likes brinjal curry very much. So she asked Tenali Rama to bring few brinjals so that she will prepare a curry and taste it. But Tenali Rama knows that the king is taking extreme care about the Brinjal plants and he can easily detect missing of even one brinjal from his garden. And, he will chopped off the thief's head right then as a punishment for the theft, if he caught him.

But Tenali's wife pleaded him to bring a brinjal from the garden without telling to anybody. She wanted to taste the brinjal. Tenali Rama was left with no chance than thefting the brinjal from king's garden. One night he went to the kings garden and jumped the wall of the king's garden and plucked few brinjals from the garden, and brought to home. By gods grace no one had seen him.
