I picked up this song from a recording by legendary Irish folk-group "De Dannan" the singer being a young Eleanor Shanley. It was on their 1988 album "Jacket of Batteries" (strange name!)
It's been said that this is the only love-song you'll ever need. I like it, the tune, the language, the feel of it. It moves freely between 4-beat and 3-beat bars, but so cleverly crafted is the song that these transitions feels totally natural.
Don't expect my version to come close to the De Dannan original, which is sensational, but I hope you like it nevertheless.
