DASHCAM: Crazy High Speed Chase Through Multiple Counties

Officers Narrative

On May 5, 2020, at approx 11 A.M Corporal Morse, was traveling North bound on Highway 71 when he observed a full size red pickup heading South at a high rate of speed, and when confirmed with radar, the vehicle was doing 104 mph.

He crossed the grass median with lights on when it was passing me, but the vehicle continued heading south. Corporal Morse advised dispatch that I was trying to catch up to a vehicle that was speeding. In order to catch up to the vehicle he reached speeds of 120 mph with my lights and sirens going and observed the vehicle turn right onto Young Ridge Road.

When I finally got behind the vehicle, it was traveling at speeds of over 80 mph and called in pursuit at that time. I then advised dispatch of my location and the tag number on the vehicle, and was informed that , that vehicle was the one reported stolen earlier today. When I was informed of this, Deputy Ervin who took the report of the stolen vehicle advised me that there was a gun in the vehicle when it was stolen.

At approx. 11:18 A.M, ASP Trooper Araujo Diego was notified by Dispatch that Sebastian County was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle and suspect had already disabled a Sebastian County unit by intentionally ramming it. The driver also brandished a firearm. I started heading that way to assist the county. I spotted the vehicle on Browntown Rd and Bucella Rd.

As a result, I collided with the rear of the suspect vehicle. After the collision, the suspect continued fleeing on Edgewater Dr. before turning onto Lakeside Dr. I yielded to the right and other units took the lead. The suspect turned onto Shadow Lake Dr. before traveling northbound on US-71 Highway. A short time later, a Precision Immobilization
Technique (PIT) was used to end the pursuit. The suspect was then taken into custody.
