In an unprecedented statement Buckingham Palace says it "will stand ready to support" police in any investigation into allegations concerning Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.
It comes after Thames Valley Police yesterday confirmed it is assessing whether there are grounds to investigate a complaint by the anti-monarchy group Republic, which reported Andrew for suspected misconduct in public office and breach of official secrets following emails suggesting he passed on sensitive information to Epstein as part of his role as a trade envoy.
