In this video, I restore a beautifully minimalist Østfold Mascot 55FM transistor radio, made in Norway the same year I was born. It features an all-wood case and Scandinavian simplicity that I really admire.

I received this set from a generous viewer — the same one who sent me the Tandberg Portable 41 — and I had no idea what condition it was in. So, I decided to power it up live on camera for the very first time!

As you might expect, the electrolytic capacitors were the first suspects… but what else needed work? You’ll have to watch and see! This is a full restoration: diagnostics, repairs, cleaning, and return to full working condition.
