5005 is one of 80 MCI D45 CRT model coaches built for Metrolinx's GO Transit in 2025. These are not only the first D45 CRTs in the GO Transit fleet, but the first fully Canadian-built coaches of this particular model platform. In April 2024, Metrolinx issued a procurement for new coaches, and a 5-year contract was awarded to MCI in January 2025.
