High Spirits has been one of our most requested and anticipated Encores! productions of all time and we are happy to report that it did not disappoint!

High Spirits is a 1964 musical comedy by Hugh Martin and Timothy Gray, adapted from Noël Coward’s play Blithe Spirit, about a novelist (Steven Pasquale) who accidentally summons the ghost of his first wife, Elvira (Katrina Lenk), during a séance, causing chaos with his second wife, Ruth (Phillipa Soo).

In our opinion High Spirits' biggest crime was opening in a particularly stacked season. It was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical alongside Funny Girl, She Loves Me, and Hello, Dolly!

What an impossibly thrilling season, and yet this show is still an excellent show that was unfortunately buried by other excellent shows.
