African Union Member States have made collective and individual commitments to the advancement of the rights of women and girls in Africa. #WhatAfricanWomenWant is the Universal ratification, domestication and implementation of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa #MaputoProtocol. 42 of the 55 Member States have ratified the Protocol. All 55 member states must also meet their obligations to report on the implementation progress of the Protocol, for accountability and tracking of implementation of these commitments.
