This dive site has the STRONGEST current in the world!! It’s called - The Shotgun and it’s in Komodo Islands, Indonesia! 🤿🥶 Divers travel to Komodo islands from all over the world to experience these crazy currents and if you want to experience the FULL force of it, you have to hook yourselves against the current - which is exactly what we did!! 🤓 You can see me struggling with the hook and then the divers flying by when unhooked! 🥶
We dived this site with the inimitable Liveaboard champs @emperorliveaboard.
How this dive works is we first go into an area called the Cauldron which as the name suggests is shaped like a deep bowl with walls of beautiful corals. And then the dive guide signals a “Shotgun” and the divers get ready to enter the mouth of the “The Shotgun”. You go in one by one and just FLY by the current or HOOK yourselves.
It was hands down one of THE most thrilling dives I’ve done in my life and I was lucky to have @gustin_01 as my dive guide who I not only trusted with my life but who also took some excellent shots of the incredible experience!! ❤️
This is one of the most exhilarating, slightly terrifying but absolutely amaaaazing experience I have had so far in my short diving career! ❤️
