The kinetic energy from the wind is the fuel that drives the wind turbine to produce electricity. The rotor of a horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) is the critical element for that so its aerodynamic design is of paramount importance. So for its design is critical to understand how the wind behaves and how its characteristics are driving the design decisions. This is the first of a series of videos that will bring you the basics of the aerodynamic design of the rotor.
