Boat was built in Preston. Believed to be the MARGARET. Of a flat construction
The essential characteristics of the flat, were a round bow (front), a shallow draft and a flat bottom, and typical dimensions of 60-65ft length and 15ft wide. Probably able to carry around 50 tons of cargo.
