To console us (or to regret more) for not having the complete recording of the Arpeggione Sonata, a Schubert’s masterpiece, by Lynn Harrell and Yuja Wang, two excerpts from a rehearsal in Verbier, in 2008, with the score, followed by an excerpt from Stravinsky’s Pulcinella…
I have indicated on the score the beginning of each excerpt, with a red arrow.
And a mysterious detail: the score that Yuja looks at between 2’19’’ and 2’25’’ is neither by Schubert nor Stravinsky: it is the fifth Paganini Variation by Brahms, Variations which she will play in Verbier the following year!
